what do we offer
about Us
We love our dogs, they are a large part of our lives. We’ve traveled across multiple states with them adventuring outdoors and visiting big cities staying at campgrounds, hotels and airbnbs. Along the way we’ve learned many lessons, but it’s also been great fun and something we love to do at every opportunity.
Our practical experience also comes from fostering and training many dogs, primarily northern breeds, rescued from shelters for nearly 10 years. During that time, we were fortunate to have had access to and learned from several veterinary specialists, trainers, behaviorists, nutritionists and other animal professionals.
We also read everything about dogs and have attended seminars, clinics, workshops, training and lectures to stay current on new research and training methods on dog wellness, obedience and behavioral modification. We continue learning and expanding our knowledge so we can help others because we love dogs and we want them to have the best lives
Our goal is to empower and guide you so your dog can enjoy a life that best suits both you and your dog. Hopefully that includes traveling with your dog which we strongly encourage. We have first hand experience on a myriad of issues, and believe that there is no one way to raise or care for a dog. Everybody has varying needs, knowledge and experience.

She has a great command of her energy (she is very calm), which our puppy very much appreciates, as do we...Read More

I didn't think it was going to be possible to leash train Shugoki but after a quick 2-hour session with Heron, we were walking him down the street and he wasn't pulling!
We highly recommend Heron!

There are so many things Heron has helped me with regarding my dog that I could talk about, but I'll focus on behavioral issues & nutrition.
My dog was taken away from his mom and litter way too early and developed a lot of behavioral issues. I didn't have the stereotypical every day dog that you could bring to the dog park. He had separation anxiety, he jumped & bit me, he was skittish & scared of invisible things.
One by one Heron helped me address these issues and come up with a game plan. We're still working every day, but without Heron's guidance I would have given up on one of the most fulfilling relationships in my life with my baby...Read More
